The King’s Lady Monarchs were able to squeeze by conference foe Misericordia, 71-66, at Scandlon Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. King’s offense was in sync for most of the day and were lead by senior Marissa Manning who finished with 19 points on 6-12 shooting.

The Misericordia broadcast announcer on the far side of the press box was stammering. Just like that, it had vanished. All of the promise, the amazement, the fluidity and any other superlatives that could describe how splendid it was to watch Lady Monarch basketball roll at a high level: was gone.

Last month, the King’s College Men’s basketball team got ran out of the gym by Misericordia, 70-41, in which the Monarchs youth showed as Misericordia’s experience prevailed in the Anderson Center. The King’s Lady Monarch basketball team is putting together a roller-coaster ride of a season. One game, the Red and Gold catch fire and shoot an extremely high percentage from the field. The next, they struggle to put the ball through the nylon, as was the case against No. 24 Eastern Wednesday night in Scandlon Gymnasium.

The King’s Monarchs won a very big conference against Eastern University, 80-74, at Scandlon Gymnasium . With this win, the Monarchs currently sit alone in fourth place of the Freedom Conference standings.
