The King’s Monarchs won a very big conference against Eastern University, 80-74, at Scandlon Gymnasium . With this win, the Monarchs currently sit alone in fourth place of the Freedom Conference standings.

The Monarchs shot a cool 50 percent from the field and held the Eagles to 39 percent on the night.

King’s was paced by freshman guard Chris Fazzini, the younger brother of guard John Fazzini. Chris Fazzini finished with a team-high 20 points and recorded half of his points from the stripe.

Dan Rutecki, who has been the offensive leader all year for King’s finished with 16 points on 6-11 shooting.

Eastern was led by Austin Carroll who finished with 15 points. Shaquan Turk may of shot just 2-12 from the field but his 8-8 from the line led him to finish with 14 points.

The Monarchs are just a few wins away from a playoff berth but that wont lead coach Andrejko to think any further then Saturday.

“I’ll talk Saturday,” Andrejko said during post-game. “That is about as far as we can go. I talk playoffs every single day, but we need to worry about Saturday.”

As coach Andrejko said, King’s will take the hardwood once again on Saturday at home against Misericordia at 6 p.m.
