I have been rocking out to this ever since I got it in here at WRKC last week! I have to admit, the thing that very first attracted me to this album was the album artwork. I am a sucker for cool album artwork. And it was just the cherry on top when the album was actually good!! I had heard of Night Moves before, this album having been released since 2011. I never really divulged until it was placed in front of me, and man am I glad I did. Now signed with Domino Records, Night Moves has officially released “Colored Emotions”

Night Moves has a complex yet very soothing sound that is easy on the ears. If I had to place it in a genre it would be a crazy mix of psychadelic, surfer-folk/rock. With a little bit of country twang. I know this is a stretch, but listen to it and you will get it. It is like a combination of all of my favorite genres in one, and it makes me VERY happy.

The vocals and some of the guitar remind me of Avi Buffalo, giving it that surfer rock feel. I can also pick up some psychedelic vibes, making it feel like Tame Impala and MGMT/MMJ in a way.

Anyway you slice it, it is a great album with a lot of potential and I give you the go ahead to rock it!

Some great tracks to get started with are “Country Queen”, “Headlights”, “Family Tongues” and “Horses”… but honestly, it is a solid album to play all the way through. You will not be disappointed.
