The Afternoon Alternative brings you the latest and greatest in alternative, indie, and folk-rock music every Wednesday from 3-4 pm. I’m your host the Alternanerd, and I started this show in March 2010 to have an outlet for my musical nerdy-ness. I love to geek out over music, whether it’s a stunning a’capella arrangement, a tight, chill-inducing harmony, or an innovative, creative sound. When I find a song I love, I have to share it. I want other people to hear it, love it, and bring it into their own lives. So I bring my obsessions to the WRKC airwaves. Tune in to an episode of The Afternoon Alternative and you can expect to hear Something Corporate fading into The Swell Season, or a little known P!nk song leading into the latest track from The Decemberists. It’s an eclectic mix, but what’s life without variety?
