Frightened Rabbit Wants Us to Be Brave

Frightened Rabbit is a Scottish band that steadily continues to impress, and their latest release, Pedestrian Verse, is no exception. At its core, it is a somewhat pedestrian release, in that it represents common people’s issues, problems, and experiences.

Eels still happy; album not as awesome

Though it may be cruel to wish ill on those you admire, I sort of want Mark Oliver Everitt (E) to channel his tragedy to make another masterpiece. Like many aging musicians, he’s gotten more peaceful and cute on his recent endeavors.

Born To Die – Paradise Edition

Very excited to bring you what I think so far about Lana’s new release. Her newest addition to her musical arsenal, “Born To Die – Paradise Edition” is a force to be reckoned with. Now, now, now. Let me speak my peace for a second…  I have been a fan of Lana’s since the beginning. [...]

Check It Out – Night Moves!!

I have been rocking out to this ever since I got it in here at WRKC last week! I have to admit, the thing that very first attracted me to this album was the album artwork. I am a sucker for cool album artwork. And it was just the cherry on top when the album [...]

Check It Out- Melody’s Echo Chamber

Fat Possum records just dropped an awesome album by artist Melody Prochet, who records under the name of “Melody’s Echo Chamber”. This self-titled album is a psychedelic product of the French, multi-instrumental singer songwriter. With the help of Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, Melody recorded her first album while being inspired by Parker’s free spirit.

The Heavy – The Glorious Dead

If I had to describe this album quickly… English Black Keys with a bit more funk and soul. There you go.

Animal Collective – Centipede HZ

I have to say that I am VERY impressed with Animal Collective’s new album, Centipede HZ. I have been a long time fan of their’s, so it is always nice to get new stuff from them.

Album of The Week

Fantasmes – Redness Moon   Lately, I have really been into psychedelic 70′s soundin bluesy rock… yea, that’s it. The likes of Tame Impala and The Black Keys… can’t miss for me. So I am absolutely in LOVE with this album. To me, it seems like a great combination of the two. It has the [...]

GOOD MUSIC ALERT

Kitten – Cut It Out EP   When I saw that the RIYL for this album included Cat Power AND Yeah Yeah Yeahs… I was automatically intrigued. And after listening, I was hooked. This is Kitten’s debut EP, and they are surely killing it. Frontwoman Chloe Chaidez can definately hang with the likes of female [...]

What’s Good – Sunburn EP by Baio

Sunburn EP – Baio This new EP from Vampire Weekend’s bassist Chris Baio is very appropriately titled. I say so because this album would be perfect for a lazy day at the beach just baking in the sun all day.
